Lessons
Private and semi-private sessions, riding and driving, beginners upward.
Do you give English or Western lessons?
Generally English, unless you are interested in riding one of our gaited horses.
Do you give group lessons?
Semi-private is sometimes possible, but we do not run group lessons.
Do you give lessons to beginners?
Yes, for both riding and driving. Beginners are genuinely welcome here.
Do you give lessons to young children?
Yes, as long as the child is at least seven years old.
Do you give lessons to older adults?
Yes, if they are physically able.
How long is a lesson?

Horses
Thoroughbreds and driving horses of any breed.
Is a horse suitable for the discipline I am interested in?
That depends on the training the horse has had and the ability of the rider. Tell us both and we will give you a straight answer.
What breeds do you work with?
We specialize in Thoroughbreds, and we work with driving horses of any breed, including ponies and very small equines.
Do you have horses for sale?
Availability changes, so we do not keep a sales list on the website. Send an inquiry or call the farm and we will tell you what is actually here.
Do you have off track Thoroughbreds for second careers?
Yes. Finding new careers for retired racehorses has always been one of our goals, and horses bred here have gone on to eventing, show hunters, jumpers, and pleasure riding. Reach out and we will go over the options we have available.
The farm
Twenty seven acres in Millstone Township, Monmouth County.
Where is the farm located?
Nearaway Farm is at 30 Bittner Rd, Millstone Township, New Jersey 08535, between exits 7A and 8 on the New Jersey Turnpike.
What is on the property?
A 17 stall main barn with 12x12 stalls and a six stall broodmare barn with 12x16 stalls, eight paddocks in flexible PVC rail fencing, a 60 ft round pen that stands 8 ft high, an indoor arena with mirrors, and a galloping field, across 27 acres.
Is there trail access?
Yes. The farm adjoins more than ninety acres of county park trails and tracks laid out specifically for horses and walkers, so you can ride out without trailering anywhere.
Do you board horses?
Yes, and two stalls come open on 1 October 2026. Boarding stalls are 12x12, matted, and well ventilated, and paddocks are fenced in flexible PVC rail with wide lanes between them for safety. For rates and any further availability, send an inquiry or call (732) 718-3990.
How long has Nearaway Farm been here?
Bill and Ricki Neuberg have owned and operated the farm since 1973. They have been in Millstone Township since 1978 and have been breeding Thoroughbreds since 1975.
Can I come and see the farm?
Call ahead on (732) 718-3990 so we can make sure someone is free to show you around. It is a working farm, so turning up unannounced usually means nobody is available.
